About the Artist
Kindra developed an appreciation for the arts at an early age. Growing up in Carmel, California, she was surrounded by artists, beautiful scenery, and a wealth of opportunities for creative development. She began drawing and painting almost as soon as she could hold a pencil in her hand, and continues to develop her talents through expression of landscapes, animal portraits, and the natural environment.
Kindra has developed a keen awareness for man’s relationship to nature, wildlife, and the environment through her other work and experiences in life as a landscape architect, environmental planner, and lifelong equestrian. She has traveled extensively throughout Central and South America and lived for a number of years in Peru. While living abroad, Kindra developed a unique interest in Colonial Spanish and Native Cultures and artistic expression. The colors and vibrancy of the Western U.S., Southwest, and Latin and Indigenous American cultures, often comes through in her artwork.
Kindra earned her Master of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech and her BS in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland. She has lived in beautiful areas such as Carmel, San Diego, Tucson, Loudoun County, Virginia, the Chesapeake Bay area in Maryland, and now the Great Lakes region in Milwaukee, WI. These are areas known for beautiful scenery, history, art, horses, and country life and help fulfill her desire to create beautiful artwork. Her artwork has been shown in several juried exhibition and has received many accolades and several awards.
Kindra is now located in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. She is excited to paint the vibrant subjects of the Farms and Ranches, Beauty of the Country, Great Lakes and local Landmarks, wildlife, indigenous cultures, and birds!
